Soundry Halloween directory
updated for Halloween, 2009
|
 |
| This Halloween Music and Sound Effects directory will provide you with everything
you need to enhance your Halloween experience with sound. I scoured the
internet and several trade shows to bring you the newest and best of the bunch. Reviews and
sound clips are included wherever possible. Because Halloween
Scary Sound Effects CDs go out of print quickly,
it is sometimes difficult to find them in stores. We try to keep this site
updated with in-stock items so you can make your Halloween Music purchase
quick and easy, just in time for your Halloween party. |

This is me, Scott Upper,
sandwiched between my two favorite photos. I am a techno artist and founder of Soundry...I
started this project in 2003 when I noticed that each year,
Halloween parties in California kept getting bigger and bigger. Entire
neighborhoods were being blocked off. People were dancing in the
streets all night long. But there was one little problem...there was
no new Halloween Music being played. So I had this idea...why not bring together the
best techno and dance music from the clubs,
raves, and
parties of California, and bring 'em to the party? Well,
that inspired my 2003 release:
Rave-O-Ween: Ghoulish Grooves and
Halloween Techno Terror. It was picked up by a big chain of stores
called "Halloween Headquarters" and San Francisco was rockin'
and ravin'.
So I spent the next year producing a follow-up compilation CD called
Rave-O-Ween 2: Monsters Re-Mixed
and attending Halloween trade shows and events. I am fascinated with the cross-over between
my own musical roots (techno-pop,
industrial, trance and other genres of electronic music) and
Halloween, the coolest holiday on the planet. I finished off the
site by including the latest Halloween Music, Sounds, and Sound
Effects, and exploring the cross-over with articles written about the
history of each of these "movements" or "subcultures", which you can
find on the menu at the bottom of each page. |
